BLAH. 1) Two feet of water appears as nothing above the golden cobbled bed of the Beaver Kill (September 2021). 2) The filtering capacity of American eelgrass, especially abundant between Port Jervis and the Water Gap, contributes to the middle Delaware’s excellent clarity (August 2020). 3) Mills Hollow Brook discharging cloudy water into the crystalline East Branch Delaware River is a curious sight to behold (March 2022). Tributaries, carrying smaller volumes in more erosion-resistant channels, tend to run clearer than their mainstems, but this pattern is reversed on the first few miles of the East Branch below Pepacton Reservoir during the spring thaw.
